American Idol Results-April 14

April 15, 2010 |16:14 | Results | Updates  By : Team X

Where the April 14 episode of American Idol Results day saw the return of 2 former American Idol contestants it also saw off 2 current idols. Well yesterday’s installment of the show brought us to the end of the American Idol road for singers Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens. The April 14 show was a double elimination episode because last week the judges decided to use their ‘save card’ for Michael Lynche as he earned the least number of votes.

Surprisingly Big Mike wasn’t even in the bottom three this week. Coming back to the eliminated contestants, it was Andre Garcia who was first to let go. After being told the bad news he appeared to be very composed and reacted well. He later said that he was just glad to be there on the stage and he’s been to go through all that happened to him recently. “You guys let me experience something that I’ve never experienced. Thank you.” Garcia said.

American Idol Results - Big Mike Gets the Big Save as Next Week's Big Mentor is Announced

April 9, 2010 |14:43 | Results | Updates  By : Team X

The American Idol results show came in like a lamb and went out like a lion...a great big lion, but I'll get to that.  After some horrendous live performances this season, David "Archie" Archuleta was actually a breath of fresh air, and I wasn't a huge fan during season seven.  He sat at the piano to sing "Imagine," for which he got great praise during his run on AI.

I have to ask, though, why was he gasping for air so badly when he never even rose from his seat the entire time?  Seemed like he needed an inhaler, or his dad to give him a great big whack on the back.  Too mean?  Rihanna showed up wearing a futuristic military rubber suit which, when you've gotten your bootie beaten, is a natural defense.

Eliminated Idol's tips for judges

April 6, 2010 |15:13 | Results  By : Team X

Eliminated Idols tips for judgesAmerican Idol reject Didi Benami has dished out some advice to Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges. The 23-year-old - the latest wannabe to get voted off the US TV talent show - said she would advise the panel to "be more consistent just like they told me".

Early in the competition the judges - Simon, Ellen DeGeneres, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi - liked her unique singing style, but over time changed their tune.

Last week, they were critical of Didi's performance of What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted, calling it "old fashioned," "overdone" and "dramatic", and she was eliminated after receiving the fewest votes from viewers. But Didi thinks the panel could tone down their reactions a bit.

"I would tell them to not be as harsh because some of the things they said were really, really hurtful and not necessary," she said. Nine contestants remain in the singing competition.American Idol is shown on ITV2 in the UK.

'American Idol' Reveals Surprising Top 12 Results

March 12, 2010 |09:23 | Results  By : Team X

As "American Idol" prepared to unveil its top 12 finalists, host Ryan Seacrest warned viewers, "We could be in for a surprise or two." He should have said three or four.

Lilly Scott, Alex Lambert, Katelyn Epperly and Todrick Hall were the contestants eliminated on Thursday night (Mar. 11), in a tearful series of announcements that left nearly all the "Idol" hopefuls stunned and the judges visibly disappointed. Some, like Lilly Scott, were considered to be among the strongest contestants of the season, while others were just beginning to hit their stride.

We Are The Fallen: American Idol's Carly Smithson and former members of Evanescence sign album dealWe Are The Fallen, the band formed by three founding members of Evanescence and fronted by American Idol finalist Carly Smithson, have signed a recording deal with Universal Republic Records, the label announced today. Featuring Smithson on vocals, bassist Marty O'Brien [Tommy Lee, Disturbed] and former Evanescence guitarists Ben Moody and John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Gray, We Are The Fallen isn't so much a new outfit, as it is an updated lineup of the trio's original band. The name is a reference to Evanescence's debut album Fallen, which has sold more than 15 million copies to date, and on which Moody was a principal songwriter.

American Idol results Final 8 cut down to Final 7

September 2, 2009 |14:21 | Results  By : Team X

American Idol results Final 8 cut down to Final 7Another Wednesday night, another Idol elimination. Yep, another glitzy prime-time show stretched to a full 60 minutes just to make a 30-second announcement: Who will be the next contestant eliminated from America's most popular - and addictive - talent show?

After a nationwide vote, with millions of people dialing their phones (or repeatedly hitting the redial button for their favorite contestant) the person going home is....

We'll find out, right after this commercial break. Okay, enough clowning around. This is serious stuff. After all, dreams are on the line. The field of competitors on "American Idol" was cut down tonight to seven as Scott MacIntyre (the blind, curly-haired guy who some consider a little too bland to win this grueling contest) was sent packing his bags.

MacIntyre landed among the dreaded "Bottom Three" tonight, during a ho-hum show that featured yet another corny, poorly choreographed group song ("Can't Get You Out of My Head"), another tacky Ford commercial (although this one was a little more creative than the others), and, of course, a performance by a mega-celebrity.

In fact, this week, there were a few celebrities in the house. First up was a surprise appearance by 50s crooner Frankie Avalon. Next was hip-hop star Flo Rida, who sang a decent rendition of his big radio hit, "Right Round."

American Idol results Final 8 cut down to Final 7Then we got to see former Idol finalist Kellie Pickler, the cute blonde country singer from a few seasons ago. Also earning Bottom Three status tonight were Anoop Desai (somewhat surprising after his excellent performance Tuesday night) and Lil Rounds (sort of expected after an average performance this week).

Many Idol fans were worried that Kris Allen would end up in the bottom three after his sub-par performance Tuesday night, but it appears his prior weeks of awesome singing paid off. (His good looks probably didn't hurt too much either.)

Kris put his fans' fears to rest fairly quickly tonight when he was told he was safe, shortly after Ryan Seacrest told Adam Lambert he also was advancing to the Final 7. (What a shocker! Adam is still in the competition!)

The next two contestants who learned they were safe for another week were Danny Gokey (another no-brainer) and Matt Giraud (no surprise there, either). Also advancing another week is Allison Iraheta, the pint-sized, red-headed rocker with the raspy voice. (This talented 16-year-old is finally getting the fan support she deserves.
